Biography

Recognized as a accomplished steel guitarist, songwriter, entertainer!

Curt Shoemaker was born April 2^nd 1952 in Beloit, Kansas. He spent his childhood on farm near Ionia, Kansas where family traditional music was a major influence. Shoemaker’s music career started early in his life at the age of 6 year’s. Curt was part of his Mother’s band at local community events. Later he began to play various instruments with local bands.

After some years he purchased his first steel guitar an began his career as a professional musician. After some years with Midwest bands, he moved on to Nashville,Tennessee for a short period of time. After leaving Nashville, Curt moved to Branson, Missouri, where he played for a variety of professional shows and Recording Artist's including The Brumley Show,

Vance Greek, The Texans, The Ozark Opry And Boxcar Willie.

In the mid 90’s, Shoemaker returned to Kansas and took a job with KFRM Radio,Salina/Wichita as a band leader for their radio road shows. Presently he lives in Ionia, Kansas Where he writes songs and performs his music in many cities and venues across the United States. Shoemaker has become one of the most sought after recording steel guitarists on recording sessions of many recording studio’s clients, due to his unique creativity, ideal tone quality, professional music arrangements on many corporate, custom, and vanity studio recording sessions, where a need for a professional steel guitar sound is needed by “producers” of Sessions or want to “Shop” a Major “CD” recording contract deal for a recording Artist. Over the years Curt has been invited to play and perform at many steel guitar shows and Conventions such as the renowned International Steel Guitar Convention held in St. Louis, Missouri. His resume also includes performances in Arizona, Colorado, Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Kansas, and Arkansas. Shoemaker works many live stage shows and concert with national acts and well-known regional performers including Stone-Wall Jackson, Leona Williams, Claude Gray, Jean Shepard, Norma Jean, and Les Gilliam. Curt’s versatility, attitude, attention to the music arrangement detail of the song being performed is a compliment to any Recording Artist stage production.

Curt Shoemaker is a lifelong professional musician entertainer who has shared his music abilities with many friends and fans across the United States and through out the world. With his smooth and fluent style, Curt is a respected Professional Musician, Steel Guitarist, and Songwriter who never fails to inspire others and impress all listeners and fellow players alike.
