James S. Barnard BMI - SONGWRITER Country - Contemporary – Gospel Christian Love Songs
Biography James S. Barnard was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee and learned to play the guitar at a mountain top resort that his family visited on vacations. When he was seven years old, his family relocated to Atlanta, Georgia where James and his brother recorded their original tunes in their basement studio. Though he played in several bands growing up, James preferred the more serious side of music, writing songs. He later married and settled into domestic life while working for a major fortune five hundred company. He remained in their employ for the next several years while continuing to develop his skills to become a professional songwriter. In 1998 James spent time in Florida furthering his education by spending inspirational time at the beach, writing songs and honing his craft. Upon returning to his current country home in Carrollton, just outside of Atlanta Georgia, James began pursuing the advice and guidance of music industry professionals to help further his professional song writing. Through his association with songwriter Chip Martin, James began recording and cataloging his songs. Further professional endeavors have lead to legitimizing his catalogue of songs under his own music publishing business, West Georgia Music Publishing, BMI. Presently he is recording his songs with songwriter David Leonard from Nashville, Tennessee.
JAMES THOUGHTS ON WHY HE WANTED TO BE A SONGWRITER.
“Through-out my life I have always wanted to be a songwriter for different reasons ranging from wanting to impress the ladies, to just the enjoyment of expressing myself in a song, wanting to have enough money to make a difference in my family’s and other peoples lives. It takes an awful lot of money to make any serious difference, but in my life songs have given me what no amount of money could ever give. I think hope, dreams and faith in God are simply the most the most precious things that anyone can attain. These are the things I hope to pass along in the music and lyric of my songs, that’s why I wanted to be a songwriter. Considering I went to sleep many times with my guitar next to me at seven years old, before the girls, money and other aspirations ever came along, maybe we should just assume that it was simply meant to be”. Though he does not consider himself a entertainer, James loves to sing, he also has penned a book of poems.
